Good News on the Schools

I haven't had many posts because we've been so busy trying to keep our head above water in the schools. On the other hand, the beginning of the school year has been a breeze compared to preparing for the first day.

We did receive some good news last week. Unless it changes again, we were informed that all three schools would be torn down and rebuilt from scratch. That includes everything except for the parts of the schools that are in use right now and the gym in the high school. The district purchased 20 acres of land by the racing museum to build a brand new elementary school, and the middle school will be built on the same spot but with a lot more room.

That also means Nichole and I will have new classrooms, which is a relief. We were starting to get really concerned that we would have to go through all this for two years and then return back to our old classrooms. It's nice to see a light at the end of the tunnel, although the tunnel is a long ways away.

It's also nice to know that Mackenzie and Jace will have brand new schools to go through, which is pretty exciting. I really think our town could end up gaining a lot of families by the time this is all said and done. Hopefully that means we will get some fast food or a grocery store sometime, too!
